One of my absolute favorite little joys in the world is a bowl of delicous strawberries. Anyone who knows me at all, knows that mostly I love them in a bowl accompanied by a spoon and jar of nutella. Luckily, in San Diego there are a few different places you can spend a beautiful afternoon picking a bucket of your own. As soon as I came across the Carslbad Strawberry Company I couldn’t wait to take Grace and go pick our own locally grown berries!
Of course we asked Grammy (“mumm mumm”) and Grandpa (“pa”) to come along on our adventure! The four of us piled in the car and drove up the coast to the The Carlsbad Strawberry Company. It is open every day from 9:00am to 6:00pm and is right off the 5 freeway at the Cannon Road Exit. One large bucket costs $20 and includes admission for two. One small bucket costs $10 and includes admission for one. The strawberries we picked were some of the sweetest I’ve tasted in San Diego and Grace couldn’t get enough. The experience was definitely worth the cost. Right by the strawberry stand at the entrance, there is water provided to rinse your berries off and sneak in a few sweet bites on the spot.
We had so much fun and are still enjoying our bucket of berries from Carlsbad Strawberry Company. I would definitely recommend checking it out! Don’t forget to bring some sunscreen and make sure to wear a pair of shoes you don’t mind getting a little muddy.
