Exploring new places and documenting life’s sweetest moments with photographs are just a couple of things that fill me up and feed my soul. eight whole years ago I met the love of my life in San Diego and fastforward five years to 2014, we made the move from Santa Monica to San Diego to start fresh as a couple of newlyweds with big dreams. Years later I still find myself wandering around different neighborhoods taking in the details, discovering new beaches, venturing into new restaurants and coffee shops usually with my favorite little human at my side.
This past week, Grace and I met one of my dearest friends for lunch in Little Italy at Cafe Gratitude, a 100% organic plant-based restaurant that also happens to be beautifully designed. We chatted and laughed while Grace made a mess of the potted succulent plant behind us. Then we chased Grace down Kettner Blvd to Herb & Eatery, the adorable casual eatery and market attached to the restaurant, Herb and Wood. We ultimately ended at The Crack Shack, a spot with the most amazing melt-in-your-mouth biscuits and fried chicken where the littles can wander around and sing through dinner all they want because it’s an all outdoor eatery.
Most days Grace and I wear our comfies around the house and out and about. But for our girls lunch day in Little Italy we both put on our latest wardrobe additions. I found this top for Grace at Zara a few weeks ago and couldn’t resist buying it for her. And my top came from… I’ll give you one guess.. it rhymes with kay-brew 😉
Grace is willing to pose for photos about as often as I get us both dressed in real outfits and actually do my hair and makeup. Maaaaaaybe once a week. More often than not I’m finding silly ways to make her laugh and smile, and for these photos it was a handful of pebbles that we were tossing up in the air… and she loved it.
Would love to hear what feeds your soul, fills you up, and all about your favorite places to explore here in San Diego or your own town!
