North Lake Tahoe
Crisp lakeside air, crystal blue waters and snowcapped mountains. Lake Tahoe is where I grew up spending much of my time during the summer and where I married the love of my life. It’s cozy cabins, breathtaking views, and small town feel will always bring comfort to my soul and make my heart happy.
Bryan and I did a three night getaway away from our baby girl, thanks to my amazing Mom and Dad. Three nights is the longest we have ever been away from her, and man, it was tough! We stayed at Northstar Thursday night, just the two of us. The village was covered in a fresh blanket of snow and we wandered around hand in hand, leisurely checking out the shops and restaurants.
Then we took the Gondola up the mountain to have a drink at the Ritz – like a couple of carefree lovebirds! We ended up just sipping the complimentary spiced cinnamon water and headed back down the mountain for dinner. It was relaxing and romantic. But we both couldn’t help but talk about how much fun it would be to bring Grace back one day! Northstar is so family friendly with an ice rink in the center of the village, plenty of fun activities (including free smores every day!) and of course, ski school for little ones.
Kings Beach & Incline Village
After a magical morning and afternoon on the slopes, I was ready to move on to cozy socks, chunky sweaters and cocktails in the hot tub with four of my dearest friends from college. Friday and Satuday night we stayed at an amazing cabin that we rented with a group of friends. The cabin is in King’s Beach and is right on the water with a hot tub that overlooks the lake. With the exception of a few hours at the Hyatt in Incline Village where Bryan and I got married, we spent the rest of our trip at the cabin. We woke up slow to beautiful views of the lake, sipping hot coffee and tea. We played games, shared stories, and we laughed until our bellies ached and tears streamed down our cheeks.
You Should Go
Looking back at the photos it all feels like a dream and I can’t wait to take Gracie bear back with us! And friends, if you’re looking for a lovely weekend getaway with or without little ones, you should go!
